250 gram Turmeric (unpeeled, chopped)
25 gram Tamarind
1 betel leaf (optional)
1.8 L mineral water
Put the turmeric and 500ml of water in a blender and blend until it becomes a fine texture. Using a cheese
cloth, strain it into a bowl.
Boil together the turmeric juice, tamarind, and betel leaf, adding the rest of the water in a saucepan on
medium heat. When it boils, reduce the heat and keep boiling until the mixture reaches 1.3 L. Turn the heat
off and when it cools down, strain the mixture to discard the residue from the tamarind.
Store in a glass bottle and keep in the fridge for up to 1 week. If you like, stir in a teaspoon of honey in a
glass just before drinking.
